Background

Across 2025, Oxfam, ICRISAT and SeedSystem collaborated with a wide array of local partners to conduct a Seed System Security Assessment (SSSA) in Ningi and Shira Local Government Areas of Bauchi State in Nigeria.

The SSSA examines the performance of seed systems in these areas, exploring current challenges impacting seed security. The SSSA makes clear conclusions and recommendations to overcome chronic seed system weaknesses.

Join this webinar to learn about seed security in Bauchi State. You will hear from the authors of the SSSA on their assessment process, their findings and how stakeholders can work towards a more integrated, inclusive and market-oriented seed system. You will also hear from representatives of the National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC) and the National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (NACGRAB) on what the SSSA means for their efforts.
