SILC-PSP Online course now available in French

We’re excited to announce the Private Service Provider (PSP) online course — designed to strengthen sustainable community-based savings groups — is now available in French on DisasterReady! The English version remains available here.
Community-based savings groups offer poor households safe, local opportunities to save and access small loans, helping them build assets and strengthen their resilience to shocks and stresses. One of the most widely used models to support these groups is the Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) methodology, developed by CRS. To ensure these groups are sustainable over time, CRS pioneered the PSP model— a system where groups are formed, trained, and supported by networks of community-based trainers who offer their services for a modest fee.
In partnership with CRS, Mercy Corps adapted the in-person SILC and PSP training materials into self-paced online courses, which equip program staff to:
- Train and support field agents to form and supervise savings groups using the SILC-PSP approach, and
- Guide field agents to become self-sufficient PSPs, ensuring sustainable delivery of savings services.
Start with the SILC foundations course (English only) to build your understanding of the SILC methodology and essential implementation tools. Then, continue with the PSP course (English course, French course) to deepen your knowledge and strengthen your skills for ensuring savings group sustainability.
