Synthesising key recommendations promoting seed demand creation in Burundi is a critical elements of the ISSD approach. This experience and resulting recommendations are useful for seed sector initiatives in West Africa.

The fact that sessions in this conference are in English poses a significant barrier to participation of national staff and partners of these projects.

The ISSD Africa community of practice organizes a Francophone East-West African cross-learning session. The PSSD Burundi project is in its third year of implementation while the ISSD Sahel project in inception phase. This session link ISSD Sahel with its sister project in Burundi. We zoom in on the experiences with creating demand for seed using a last-mile approach in Burundi.

The session will provide recommendations for the ISSD Sahel project, facilitate lessons learnt and create linkages for continuous exchange, mentoring and cross-learning.
